Brian Choi (Violin)

Brian Choi is a junior at Los Altos High School. He started playing the violin at the age of 9 and currently studies with Davis Law.  He previously studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is a 1st violinist in the California Youth Symphony Senior Orchestra. He was the co-concertmaster of his school’s chamber orchestra and attended the California All State Orchestra. Also, he was the concertmaster of the Yongsan International School of Seoul orchestra and a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. He also participated in the Korea International Music Educators Association festival and placed 2nd at the 2021 City Philharmonic Orchestra Music Concours in South Korea. Over summers, Brian has attended the Summer Music Institute at Tateuchi Hall and Davis Young Artists Chamber Ensemble. Aside from violin, Brian plays varsity tennis and enjoys math and coding.

Yijin Chong (Clarinet)

Yijin Chong is a junior at Archbishop Mitty High School where he is a member of the Wind Ensemble. From the age of 11, he has been studying with the instructor Hye Min Yun. Previously, he participated in All State Honor Band and Santa Clara Honor Band. He won several competitions such as Silicon Valley Music Competition, American Fine Arts Festival International Music Competition (Romantic Music), and Enkor Music Competition. Beside playing clarinet, Yijin has played piano with the guidance of Soyeon Kim; he placed in the Silicon Valley Music Competition Honors Circle multiple times. In 2024, he placed in Never Such Innocence Global Competition as a song creator and performer with the song titled “Even When” in a project band.

Andrew Kim (Oboe & English Horn)

Andrew Kim (Oboe & English Horn)

Andrew Kim is a junior oboist at Branham High School. He has been playing oboe since 6th grade and piano since 2nd grade. He is currently in the Branham High School Wind Ensemble where he plays oboe and English horn and pep band where he plays alto saxophone. Besides school, Andrew participates in the Senior Orchestra of California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra as the principal oboist. He won the 2024 CPYO Concerto Competition.

Andrew was accepted into the California All-State Honor Band for three consecutive years and the Santa Clara County Honor Band for two years. In addition to the oboe, Andrew played piano, passing MTAC level 10 with state and branch honor awards.

Andrew has competed in prestigious music competitions and has been recognized with various awards.

Andrew has been a short-track speed skater since first grade. He participated in numerous races and was awarded 2nd place in the California State Championship. He holds a Fundamental Coach Certificate for speed skating. Alongside music, he enjoys Robotics and Rubik’s cubing.

Eileen Kim (Violin)

Eileen Kim (Violin)

Eileen Kim is a junior at Mountain View High School. She began playing violin and piano at the age of 8 and currently studies violin with Mr. Byungwoo Kim.
Eileen is currently a member of California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the principal of violin II at her high school orchestra. She also played in KAMSA Orchestra and HopeBox Youth Orchestra in 2022. Besides violin, she enjoys playing piano as well. She performed in the MTAC public piano concert in 2018 and won the 1st prize in SF International Innovative Competition in 2022. Other than music, Eileen likes to read, draw, and hang with friends in her spare time.

Olivia Park (Flute)

Olivia Park (Flute)

Olivia Park is a junior at Archbishop Mitty High School where she plays the flute, piccolo and saxophones in her school's wind ensemble, jazz band and pit orchestra. She is a two-time recipient of Mitty HS undergraduate award for the Performing Arts department and leads the pep band as a drum major. Olivia played for the All-State High School Wind Symphony, the December CODA Honor Symphony Orchestra, and the All-State High School Symphony Orchestra as a principal. Outside of school, she is a principal flute in the CYS Senior Orchestra and was a featured soloist at the 2023 CYS Associate Orchestra Spring Festival as a winner of the Concerto Competition. In addition, Olivia was selected to play at the Junior Bach Festival and has won several competitions including 1st place at the ENKOR International Music Competition and KAMSA competition, 2nd place at the US Open Music Competition, and 3rd place at the Peninsula Symphony Young Musicians Competition. Apart from flute, she studied piano and holds the advanced level Certificate of Merit from the Music Teachers Association of California. Last but not least, Olivia is an avid Taekwondo athlete with a 3rd degree black belt. She has won several California and National Championships, and actively volunteers as a junior instructor at her Taekwondo studio. 

Peter Yoon (Violin)

Peter Yoon (Violin)

Peter Yoon, a junior at Leland High School, has been playing the violin since he was 8 years old and currently studies under Mr. Byung-Woo Kim. His talent has earned him numerous awards from the AFAF International Music Competition, the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music, the Silicon Valley Music Competition, the Bay Area Music Association Competition, the USOMC, and the 2024 CPYO Concerto Competition. He also performed at the Junior Bach Festival last year. Peter is an active member of both the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (CPYO) and the Leland Chamber Orchestra. In 2023, he was part of the California All-State Ensemble Orchestra and spent his summer studying at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Beyond his musical achievements, Peter is dedicated to community service, volunteering at the Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education (AMASE) where he teaches violin to students with special needs. Aside from music, Peter enjoys 3D modeling, playing sports, building model kits, and spending time with friends.

Steven Yoon (Cello)

Steven Yoon (Cello)

Steven Yoon is currently a junior at Leland High School. He has been playing the cello since the age of 9 under the tutelage of Kyeong Hwa Kim.
Steven has won numerous awards in music competitions, including 1st place in American Fine Arts Festival Golden Era of Romantic Music Competition, US International Open Music Competition(BAMA), Silicon Valley Music Competition, and 2nd place in the US Open Music Competition, the American Protégé International Concerto Competition, and the Enkor International Music Competition. He has also been selected to perform for the Junior Bach Festival for 2 years. Steven has been a member of the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra for the last 5 years. Last year, Steven won its concerto competition and solo’d with the orchestra. Steven is also a member of Leland High School Chamber Orchestra. In addition, Steven participated in multiple All State Orchestras hosted by the California Orchestra Directors Association.
Apart from competing, Steven enjoys serving people through music. He is a member of the Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education(AMASE), a non-profit organization that provides music and art education to individuals with special needs.
Outside of music, Steven enjoys playing sports, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.
