Hanz Baek, a senior at The Harker School, is a dedicated student in the Conservatory Certificate program, serving as concertmaster since the 2024-2025 season. He began playing the violin at the age of six under the guidance of Mr. Byung Woo Kim. Hanz has been with the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (CPYO) since 2018, first as concertmaster of the Associate Orchestra in 2022 and as the current concertmaster of the Senior Orchestra. He also earned the concertmaster position at the 2026 All State High School String Orchestra. He won the CPYO Concerto Competition in 2022 and again in 2025, earning solo performances on both occasions. In 2024, he won first place in both the American Fine Arts Festival International Concerto Competition and the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition, leading to performances at Carnegie Weill Hall. He also received second place in the 2026 EnKor International Music Competition. In 2023, Hanz was named the California State winner in the OPUS Music Competition and was selected to perform with the California All-State Orchestra. He performed at the Junior Bach Festival in both 2023 and 2025, and in 2023 and 2026 earned the Command Performance Award at the California Music Educators Association (CMEA) State Solo & Ensemble Festival.
An active chamber musician, Hanz participates in chamber ensembles both at Harker and outside of school. He has performed major works including Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat Major, Op. 20 and String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80. Beyond performances, Hanz is deeply committed to connecting the community through music. Through Music and Us Serving Everyone (MUSE), he regularly performs for senior centers and community events and also teaches at the Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education (AMASE) since 2023.
Beyond music, Hanz is a nationally and internationally ranked competitive archer who placed fourth in California’s U21 division in both 2024 and 2025. He is also a two-time USA Biology Olympiad Semifinalist, including a Top 125 finish in 2026, and a HOSA Dental Science state medalist. He remains active in research, medical volunteering, and healthcare-focused student organizations.

Olivia Park (Viola)

Olivia Park is a senior at Leland High School where she participates in her school’s chamber orchestra. She originally played piano and began playing viola at the age of 10 under Yunsun Kim. She currently studies under Dimitri Murrath at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Pre-College division.
This is her third year of being a member at the San Francisco Youth Symphony Orchestra and her first year in Young Chamber Musicians. Prior to that, she has also played in the California Youth Symphony for 2 years and the California All State Orchestras for 4 years. Additionally, Olivia attended the 2026 ENCORE Chamber Music Institute, the 2026 Boston University Tanglewood Institute Summer program, and the 2026 Addicott Chamber Music Festival.
Olivia has received awards from the United States International Music Competition, Silicon Valley Music Competition, KAMSA (Korean-American Music Supporters’ Association) Competition, and the Prima Volta Music Competition. She has also played in the KAMSA Youth Symphony Orchestra for 4 summers and HopeBox Charity Youth Orchestra for 2. Every holiday season, Olivia likes to play in the Cambrian Symphony for The Nutcracker Ballet. Besides playing the viola, Olivia enjoys playing piano, listening to Laufey, and crocheting.

Chloe Cheon is a senior at Presentation High School. She has been playing the piano for 8 years and currently studies under Ms. Soojin Bae. Playing music through the piano allows Chloe to articulate musical interpretations and emotions in an artistic light. She has participated in numerous competitions over the past years, winning 3rd prize in the 2024 London Classical Music Competition, 4th prize in the 2025 American International Music Competition, 1st place in the 2021 Bay Area Music Association (BAMA) US International Competition, and 2nd place in the 2021 San Francisco Innovative Music Competition (BAMA).
Apart from music, Chloe enjoys fine arts, reading, and takes interest in psychology as a career by participating in leadership positions within psychology clubs at school.

Jihoo Won (17) is a senior at Monta Vista High School. He began studying piano at the age of 8 under Mrs. Hyun-jung Cho and successfully completed the Advanced Level Certificate of Merit in 2025. Drawn to music that conveys deep emotion, he especially enjoys exploring creative expression through performances.
Beyond music, he is a member of Monta Vista’s varsity baseball team and the school’s robotics team. He also likes to watch and follow baseball in his free time and plans to study physics after high school.

Jaeho Lee is a senior at Monta Vista High School.
He began playing bass in 8th grade and is currently a member of California Youth Symphony Senior Orchestra, studying under Bruce Moyer.
Beyond music, Jaeho likes to play sports and code.
